Aqara Water Leak Sensor is a wireless water leak sensor. The sensor can work both in alert mode - when triggered, messages will be sent to the smartphone, as well as participate in the automation scenario - give a command to shut off the ball valve with an electric drive.
There are two contacts at the bottom of the sensor. In case of leakage, water gets on the contacts, closing them, which leads to the triggering of the sensor and sending a signal to the Aqara Hub. The hub, in turn, turns on the sound and/or light alarm and sends an alert to the smartphone. If an Aqara relay or switch is added to the system, the leak sensor will be able to control the motorized faucet through which the water is entered. Then the smart home will not only report an accident, but also shut off the water itself.
The Water Leak Sensor is protected against dust and moisture. The protection standard is IP67. This means full protection against dust and protection against water when submerged to a depth of 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.
